Keith Wayne Overturf

Keith Wayne Overturf, 68, of Janesville, WI went home to be with Jesus on April 4, 2015 after a long battle with Frontal Lobe Dementia.

Keith was born September 15, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids the son of the late Kenneth and Faye (Byers) Overturf. He attended school in Wisconsin Rapids before moving to Janesville in 1963. Keith served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 and was stationed in Germany. He married Marge (Emerson) Overturf August 30, 1969 in Janesville. Keith worked at General Motors for 43 ½ years in the materials department up until the plant closing.

Keith’s life passion was serving the church. He was a lifelong member of New Life Assembly of God and served in many ministry capacities: choir, praise team, special musical ensembles, church deacon and board member, board treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Restore, jail ministry, and a successful email ministry which spanned the globe. He also served on the board and was involved with Love INC.

Keith was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed riding the trails. Keith also enjoyed igniting fireworks with his son Kirk and daughter Courtney at Freedom Fest and other area shows.

Keith is survived by his wife Marge of 46 years; sons Kirk (Gretchen) and Steve (Natalie) Overturf; daughters Courtney (Marcus) Juhl and Carly Emerson; siblings Kay (Rich) Vande loo, Karen (Don) Gass, Kent Overturf, Kurt (Julie) Overturf, and Kim (Bob) Hill as well as nieces and nephews. He adored his grandchildren Kaeden, Garren, Logan, Lindsey, Abram, Ella Grace, Benjamin and Alayna. Keith also shared his life with numerous special friends that were like family to him.

Keith was a devoted husband and father who served God faithfully all of his life. He touched many lives with his testimony of the love and grace of Jesus.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Stoughton Hospital-Geriatrics, especially Lily.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to New Life Assembly of God or the Alzheimer’s Association.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at New Life Assembly of God, 2416 North Wright Road, Janesville. Funeral services to celebrate Keith’s life will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at New Life Assembly of God with his son, Rev. Stephen Overturf and Rev. Michael Jackson officiating. Committal services and military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621 will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. The Overturf family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
